Genoa Color Technologies Triples Staff, Doubles Office Space
Herzlia Pituach, Israel-October 5, 2004- When Genoa Color Technologies, (www.genoacolor.com) developer of the ColorPeakTM Multi-Primary Color (MPC) TV display system which recreates the three-dimensional gamut of film, was started in 2000 the company comprised less than half a dozen scientists, engineers and administrative personnel in a small office. Four years later Genoa has grown to 18 employees, necessitating a move to a space more than twice the size of its original home. The company is now located in Teledata House, 10 Hasadnaot Street in Herzlia Pituach.
Genoa is negotiating with several of the world’s largest television manufacturers seeking to license its ColorPeak MPC system for LCD, projection, and CRT based home entertainment displays. ColorPeak is a patent-pending technology that virtually doubles the color of today’s RGB–based television and computer displays while simultaneously boosting brightness by as much as 40%. “The result is a far more life like, richer and brighter viewing experience that is preferred over standard sets by everyone who has seen a demonstration,” said Genoa marketing vice president, Simon Lewis.
Genoa uses advanced real-time algorithms and modifications to the color display elements to translate existing video data into multi-primary color. Genoa has over 40 patents pending that apply to the concepts, processes, algorithms and implementation of its ColorPeak technology.
“The demand for ColorPeak technology has created a need for larger quarters and an ever-growing talent pool,” said Ilan Ben-David, Genoa’s founder and CEO. “There is now adequate room to support that growth.”
Genoa Color Technologies develops technologies to significantly enhance image quality and the viewing experience for a wide range of displays. The company supplies chips to major electronics companies for integration into their product lines. Genoa, with R&D based in Herzlia, Israel, is supported by VCs and private investors.
